Indications
Sharbat Jinsin is a traditional Unani tonic syrup whose name refers to ginseng, a well-known strengthening root, usually blended with other herbs. It is traditionally used for:
- General weakness, tiredness and low energy
- Recovery after illness
- As a general tonic for men, including low stamina and reduced sexual vigour
Scientific evidence for these uses is limited. Ongoing tiredness or sexual problems can have medical causes, such as anaemia, diabetes, thyroid disease, heart disease or depression, which need proper assessment by a doctor.
How It Works
Ginseng contains substances called ginsenosides, which are thought to help the body cope with stress, improve alertness and support energy (an “adaptogen” effect). Other herbs in Unani tonics are traditionally regarded as strengthening and warming. The exact ingredients vary between makers, so check the pack.
Dosage and Administration
Take as directed on the label or by a registered Unani practitioner, usually after meals. Shake well and measure with the cup or spoon provided. Do not exceed the label dose. Not for use in children.
