About the Medicine

Irritated & Damaged Skin [CICABIO]

Indications

This is a soothing and repairing skin-care cream for irritated and damaged skin. It is used on small areas of superficial skin damage such as minor scratches and abrasions, skin irritated by shaving, waxing or rubbing, dry and cracked patches, nappy area irritation, and skin that is red or sensitive after cosmetic procedures (for example peels or laser) once the doctor allows. It is a cosmetic care product, not a medicine for infections or deep wounds.

How It Works

Repair creams of this type usually combine soothing and barrier-restoring ingredients, such as copper and zinc salts (which help limit bacterial growth on the skin surface), plant extracts like Centella asiatica, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) and moisturisers. Together they form a protective film, reduce dryness and discomfort, and support the skin's natural healing.

Dosage and Administration

Clean and gently dry the area. Apply a thin layer 1 to 2 times a day, or as directed on the label, until the skin has recovered. It can be used on the face and body, and on children, following the label age advice.

Interactions

No drug interactions are known. Avoid using it at the same time on the same area as other creams unless advised by a doctor.

Contraindications

  • Allergy to any ingredient of the product
  • Deep, large, infected or heavily bleeding wounds, and serious burns, which need medical care

Side Effects

  • Mild tingling or warmth when applied
  • Rarely, redness, itching or an allergic skin reaction

Get urgent medical help if you develop swelling of the face or lips, widespread rash or difficulty breathing. See a doctor if the area becomes more red, hot, swollen, painful or oozes pus, as these can be signs of infection.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Topical cosmetic repair creams are generally considered suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. When breastfeeding, avoid applying to the nipple just before feeds, or wipe off first. Ask a doctor if unsure.

Precautions and Warnings

  • For external use only; avoid the eyes.
  • Stop using it if irritation gets worse.
  • See a doctor if the skin does not improve within 1 week.

Overdose

Overdose is not expected with external use. If a large amount is swallowed, contact a doctor or poison centre.

Therapeutic Class

Cosmetic skin repair and soothing cream (dermocosmetic).
