Marine Collagen
Indications
Marine Collagen is a protein supplement made from the skin or scales of fish, usually as hydrolysed collagen (collagen broken down into small pieces called peptides for easier absorption). It is used to support skin hydration and elasticity, to help reduce the look of fine lines, and to support healthy hair, nails, bones and joints. Some studies show modest improvements in skin moisture and elasticity after several weeks, but evidence for other uses is limited.
How It Works
Collagen is the main structural protein in skin, bones, tendons and cartilage. After digestion, collagen peptides and amino acids such as glycine, proline and hydroxyproline are absorbed into the blood. They provide building blocks and may signal skin and joint cells to make more of their own collagen. Vitamin C, often added to these products, is needed by the body to make collagen.
Dosage and Administration
Take as directed on the label, usually once a day. Powders are mixed into water, juice or another drink; tablets or capsules are swallowed with water. It can be taken with or without food. Use regularly for at least 8 to 12 weeks to judge the effect.

Pregnancy and Lactation
