Tila Mushki
Indications
Tila Mushki is a traditional Unani oil or liniment (tila means a preparation rubbed on the skin) containing musk and warming herbal ingredients. It is traditionally applied externally by men for weakness of erection and reduced sexual vigour. Scientific evidence for this use is limited, and it is not a proven treatment for erectile dysfunction.
How It Works
The warming ingredients are thought to increase local blood flow and give a feeling of warmth where they are rubbed in. Any wider effect on sexual function has not been shown in reliable studies.
Dosage and Administration
For external use only. Apply as directed on the label or by a registered Unani practitioner, usually a few drops massaged gently into the skin. Do not apply to broken, irritated or very sensitive skin, and do not swallow. Wash your hands after use and keep it away from the eyes.
Interactions
No important interactions with medicines taken by mouth are known for a skin preparation like this. Do not use it on the same area at the same time as other creams or oils unless advised. Men taking medicines for erection, such as Sildenafil or Tadalafil, or heart medicines such as nitrates should talk to a doctor about the underlying problem.
Contraindications
- Allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient.
- Broken, inflamed or infected skin at the area of use.
- Not for use by children.
Side Effects
It may cause a burning or tingling feeling, redness, itching or skin irritation, which can be strong on thin or sensitive skin. Allergic skin reactions are possible.
Get urgent medical help if you have severe burning, blistering, swelling, or signs of a serious allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing. An erection that lasts more than 4 hours also needs emergency care.
Pregnancy and Lactation
This product is intended for men. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use it, and should avoid contact with it.
Precautions and Warnings
Erection problems can be an early sign of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or hormone problems, so see a doctor rather than relying on herbal oils alone. Test a small amount on the skin first. Stop using it if irritation develops. Wash off before sexual contact to avoid irritating your partner, and note that oils can damage latex condoms.
Overdose
Using too much on the skin mainly increases irritation; wash the area with soap and water. If it is swallowed, especially by a child, get medical advice.
Therapeutic Class

Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and out of the reach of children. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
