Habb-E Hayateen Murakkab Jawahirdar
Indications
Habb-e-Hayateen Murakkab Jawahirdar is a compound Unani pill (habb means pill, murakkab means compound, and jawahirdar means containing precious substances such as pearl or gem preparations). It is traditionally used as a general restorative tonic for physical weakness, tiredness, nervous weakness, poor vitality and during recovery from illness. Scientific evidence for these traditional uses is limited, and it should not be relied on to treat any specific disease.
How It Works
The pill combines herbal ingredients traditionally considered strengthening, together with processed mineral or gem preparations used in Unani medicine. In Unani theory these strengthen the vital organs such as the heart, brain and liver. How it may work in modern medical terms has not been established.
Dosage and Administration
Take only as directed on the label or by a registered Unani practitioner, usually one pill once or twice daily with milk or water. Do not take more than recommended or for longer than advised.
Interactions
Interactions have not been well studied. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take, especially medicines for the heart, blood pressure, diabetes, or blood thinners, before using it.
Contraindications
- Allergy to any ingredient.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Children, unless a practitioner advises.
- Serious kidney or liver disease, unless a doctor approves.
Side Effects
Usually well tolerated in recommended amounts. Possible effects include stomach upset, constipation, a feeling of heat, or an allergic rash. Some traditional mineral preparations may contain metals, which can be harmful if taken in large amounts or for a long time.
Get urgent medical help if you have severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, yellowing of the skin or eyes, very dark urine, palpitations, chest pain, or signs of allergy such as facial swelling or difficulty breathing.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as safety has not been established.
Precautions and Warnings
- Ongoing weakness or tiredness can be caused by anaemia, thyroid disease, diabetes or other conditions: see a doctor for proper tests.
- Buy only registered products from reliable sources.
- Do not use long term without a practitioner's supervision.
Overdose
Taking too much may cause stomach upset, vomiting and, with mineral-containing products, possible toxicity. Seek medical help if a large amount is taken or a child swallows the pills.
